Recall

My gas cover flew off at 70 mph, the dealer tech snapped it off while in service. A new one is on order.

just got the recall on my C600. says at high speeds (greater than 100mph), the front side trim panels can start to separate from the fasteners. i'll have to keep it down a bit until i can get it in............ ;-)

I hate recalls. That is why I do not buy as soon as the market launches it. For some reason, something wrong appears along the way. Not in all scooters, or cars, though. So what I do, I let my crave to purchase on hold and will ask around first, or buy several months or even a year after it was launched. so far, I have not experienced any recalls yet due to that.

Companies can escape with this once in a while or perhaps twice within a time period and I am not certain how long the duration of that period might be, but absolutely not greater than that. There's virtually no doubt they do undermine a brand, however it's not the going wrong per se which might damage an image. Its exactly how the company handles it.

I had the recall done in Seattle, they just change the three top rubber grommets from a soft rubber (black) to a firmer resin (white) I have been consistantly over 100mph topping 113 by gps, no issues. in the pic, you can see the white one in teh upper right and older one in the lower left. That argument doesn't hold up for me. My 07 Burgman Ex was recalled for unexpected acceleration issues, that model had been around for awhile. My 03 Toyota Tundra was recalled for ball joints...that model had also been out for a few years..I was lucky that I already had about 60K on them. My 06 Buddy 125 was a first year release...no recall or warranty issues with it. It happens and really doesn't depend on year in the series
