Replacement key

Anyone know the procedure and a source to replace a key? The new to me GT that I just got only came with one key and that bothers me to no end. I'd like to get a couple of keys made - one spare and one to hide on the bike someplace.

I just got a replacement key from MAX BMW. They do require your Vin number as well as a copy of your driver's license and registration.

My third key cost me $75 and that is programmed to work in the ignition. It took 2 weeks to get in from Germany. Any other blank may open the seat but will not start the scooter

Is the key on a 2014 C650GT a transponder type key? I have varying info all over the place on the topic and can't seem to get definitive info. The key I have that works now is very small...doesn't seem like a transponder would fit in it.

TIA

Transponders of that type fit nicely into credit cards.
