Should I trade?

I recently met a fellow biker and had an in depth discussion about the bikes we ride.

I was lamenting about how underpowered I felt the C600 was when it came to riding on our local highways even though it felt nice in city traffic.

He on the other hand, was saying that he seldom rode his bike. And didn't have the need for the power that his bike provided.

At the end of the discussion, he proposed that we traded bikes as it seemed that we were each looking for something that the other had.

So, in short.... I guess what I'm trying to ask is... Would it be a good idea to trade my 2014 C600 Sport, for a 2014 K1300R? 😝

Both bikes are great for different reasons. Looking at your question, I'd think there are two factors at work in your decision matrix:
1. How deep is your lament over low power?
2. How much time do you spend on the highways where you'd want the power?

Also - from what you're saying, you may be able to do a test switch so you can each become better informed.

Thanks TwoPort! The idea of a test switch didn't occur to me. I'll do that!

If you gotta ask the question you probably really want to make the trade. You only go around once, do it!

You took the thought right out of my heart exavid..

But.. But... I'll really miss you guys too much.. Wouldn't really feel a part of this group if I wasn't riding a C600..

There's no reason you can't check in here from time to time to tell us how you're doing with the new bike. I still post on the Silverwing forum even though I sold my Silverwing three years ago.

A temporary trade of at least 2 weeks should be sufficient to be able to make an informed decision. Caution ... you may want to trade back ... but he may not

How much are speeding tickets in your country?

Expensive.. VERY expensive.. From $80 (> 10km/h) to $350 (> 30km/h). Anything more, is always > 30km/h + a court case. Plus, we get points deducted.. so we may lose our license if we accumulate enough speeding tickets in the span of 2 years.

That's very cool. Very few people can get a "re do" about a purchase decision without taking a financial bath.

There are times when I regret selling my K1100LT. When I bought it, a '95 with less than ten years about a two years ago it was great but after having problems with my knees I sold it. I had it at the same time I had my C650GT so it wasn't a decision of which one to keep. Now that I'm not having the knee problem anymore I might find another K1100. I really liked that model.

As far as owning a different bike than the subject of the forum, I'm still active on the Silverwing forum even though it's been almost four years since I last had a Silverwing scooter.
