Smoky Mountain Trip

Arrived back from a week long trip with our multi state group from IL, IN and OH down to Smoky Mountains area. C650GT performed pretty much flawlessly for the 2152 mile trip in rain and dry and on backroads and interstate. Only glitch was an intermittent TPMS light on for rear wheel as no signal from sensor (probably battery going out) that was off and on. Group included my C650GT, a RT1200, Goldwing and Honda ST1300, so I was the least powered in the group but had no problem leading the group nor any lack of power or ability. Rain wasn't our friend as we had at least 30 minutes or more each day 75% of trip. Managed to finish the Dragon about 15 minutes before a Monsoon passed through, and traveled much of Cherohala Skyway in rain or wet and had to turn around on Blue Ridge Parkway at 5500 feet due to fog and trees down on the road ahead. Had to alter some or our plans and weather created some delays and slowdowns, but was a great time and many great roads to ride. Had to ride the dragon as couldn't be there and not, but many other roads known and unknown in the area that we agreed were much more fun and less crowded. Certainly was a reinforcement of just how capable the BMW C650GT is as a touring bike.

Wow, great trip thanks for the pics. Love the lights on your wheels, what are they and did you install them? Looks really cool on the GT!
