Good morning. Sorry that my first thread is a call for assistance however I'm hoping someone might be able to help.
2 days ago I purchased a 2013 C650GT Highline with 3k on the clock. It is an immaculate machine however I went to unlock her yesterday and found the steering lock has jammed, the ignition key is in the lock and I can't remove it!
I have ridden bikes and scooters for years and I have tried all the usual ways to free the lock but to no avail.
I have spoken to BMW tech and they are stumped as well, the only thing they suggest is a ignition assembly replacement at around £1000!
I have done a bit of research and found a replacement ignition barrel set for £300 from partsss.com but can't get a straight answer as to weather a direct replacement kit with new keys will need reprogramming?
The kit I'm interested in includes barrel assembly, 2x keys and shearbolts. They have asked for vin details.
Any advice would be welcomed.
