That was weird

Changed the oil on the 2013GT for the first time, wanted a look around so I removed the side panels to get a good view, changed the oil and filter, cleaned the screen and buttoned it all back up. Topped it all off while on the lift table then backed it off, thirty minutes later went for a ride....all mileages except total mileage were erased, windscreen stuck in low position, slightly over a half tank of gas now reads one quarter and fuel light came on, all the info stored in the display was erased (average speed, MPG, ect.) stopped and filled tank, took 2 gallons, and fuel gauge is working again. I never touched the battery or unplugged anything, I reset the windshield calibration with the GS-911 and set the service minder. It's acting like a dead battery or disconnected battery, just from an oil change...

How old is the battery? Since its a 2013 and you did your first oil change I can assume its new to you. How long ago the battery was changed is the question. Later model bikes tend to be very dependent on having a constant proper battery voltage and if it drops I can imagine less than wonderful things occurring.

New to me, bought with 16,000 miles, oil change had just been done, new battery just installed before I bought it (screen was not operating when I purchased it), had been ridden about 40 miles just before this oil change and I wanted to see everything involved with the oil change for my first oil change on this type scoot. Now I know for sure I can do a proper change without having to remove panels, odd though, while I was calibrating the screen it did throw a "less than 12V code" with the key on and engine off, cranked it and left it running while I scanned everything. New to scooters, but have been on motorcycles for over 50 years and have always done my own maintenance. When stationed in Germany I would teach the guys who purchased motorcycles how to do their own maintenance, never had to buy one myself, my buddies would let me use theirs.

Interesting. On the Can Am Sypder forum, a guy was complaining about all sorts of weird issues and codes on a used bike that he had just gotten. It also had a brand new battery and he tried all sorts of things, eventually dropped it at the dealer. Everybody was telling him it had to be something electrical. As it turns out, the new battery had a bad cell or two and that was causing an issue with voltage.

I figured you had to have some background working on bikes otherwise why would you have the gs911. And I doubt anything you touched caused the issue. I would probably pull out the meter and start checking voltage on the battery and other points, also look for bad grounds.

Before I got my 2019, there was a cycletrader lead on a 2016 with really low mileage. About 1100 give or take. But in communicating with the seller, I found out the bike was stored outside under a tarp most of its life. For that reason alone I passed on it. Way too much chance for corrosion to get in and with so few miles, it never got too many chances to loose the moisture. These things are as complicated as new cars with all the electronics onboard.
