The Belt

I worked on my scooter today and replaced the belt and installed my Dr. Pulley rolls and sliders.
As for the belt when I compared the old to the new, the wear was about .050 of an inch or about 1.25mm off the sides that are used (half on each side). The scooter has 25,000km or about 15,000 miles the new belt I put in I am going to run it for 30,000km and then do a comparison.

After all my work I had no spare parts (that's a good thing) but it is raining so I don't want to go out and test it all. Just starting it in my garage it sounds good and the clutch does engage quickly

If you closely look at the picture attached you can see a flat spot on the edge of the belt, I think that this is a wear indicator. When this disappears it is time to change the belt.

While changing the belt I was also able to see the coolant expansion tank. This tank you can't tell when the plastic is on the scooter if it is full or not. When I had all the plastic off I saw the coolant was quite low. The coolant is blue in color so it is not your regular antifreeze coolant. There is also a hose that comes out of the top near the filler hole and now I know why I had coolant on my garage floor a couple of time last year (and why the tank was low)

Do you mean the portion of beige material? I'm not sure that's true. I have a belt with 11k miles on it and that line is still visible. I'm thinking it's just a different material that goes the entire width of the belt.

If you look closely the top 1/8 of an inch along the edge of the gear profile. I also attached a picture of the sticker that came on the belt package, if you look closely you can see the part number is the same but the sticker that is totally visible has it saying it was made in Japan but the sticker in behind says it was made in taiwan

The Beige material is the belt reinforcement which holds the belt together, and also scores your variator sides when the belt has worn too much, as the rubber material wears FASTER than the reinforcement...
