Tire Replacement

Hi all.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread. I have close to 6000 miles on my c650GT and it is time to replace the front tire. I purchased the bike used at 5K miles and luckily they replaced the bike tire for me new. The back tire is the FeelFree. I was thinking of getting the matching set for the front tire but wanted to know your opinion. I put on about 1000 miles in about a little over a month and do all city driving (live in NYC) and need a tire that will last a long time and be good in the winter.

Are the FeelFree's the best option? If not could I mix back and front tire?

Thanks fort the help.

I am not sure if the feel free is the best in winter but that is what is on my scooter and I ride whenever I can even into the sub zero temperatures. You may consider a feel free wintec if you can find one as it is made for winter riding but may not last as long do to the tread design with more cuts in it.

I couldn't find the WinTec this past winter. Doesn't look like they sell it in North America any more. :(

I've had the Mezler Feel Free, Michelin Power Pure, Pirelli Diablo, and Michelin City Grip on the front. The Metzler wins for longevity (7k miles) but is nearly twice the cost of the Michelin PP and Pirelli Diablo (around 6k miles for each). No details on the City Grip yet since I only have about 2k miles on it.

I put Bridgestones on my Sport a week ago, and promptly left for a two-thousand mile trip. So far no regrets and I went to West Virginia to ride the mountain curves. Time will tell about the mileage, and they never slipped like the stock tires.

Bridgestones were stock on my 2009 TMAX. As soon as they wore out (which was pretty quickly) I switched to the FeelFrees. To each his own. Happy with the FeelFrees on the C650GT.

After a few months of ownership (I got the scooter in October 2012) I got a second set of tires (feel frees) on sale with free delivery so I saved a lot of bucks. When I was ready for a tire I just had to go to the basement pick it up and go to get it replaced with no waiting and got what I wanted. I have replaced both the front and back tire and. Have a set of tires in the basement again so there will be no waiting next time either. I keep my spare set in green garbage bags to keep the light (UV rays) off them laying on there side on a carpet so the concrete does not effect them.

I ended up going with the FeelFrees. Hopefully they last longer then 6K miles. I am going in for my 6K service and figured I should do it all at once. P.S. is the 6K service basically an oil change?

Will report back on how they are after a lot of driving.

Thanks all
