Top box suggestions

I would like to buy a top box for my 650GT. It is not something that I will use a lot so the BMW box is more than I want to spend. I am thinking of a soft case that would fit on the passenger seat or later on the luggage rack when I buy one. I see that there are some very inexpensive boxes on the market.

Any ideas are welcome especially attachment points and ease of installation.

Thanks Spdrush

Remember givi makes a specific rack for the gt to fit their boxes and side bags. I'd suggest not buying the plastic bmw track and going for the metal givi one of you go that route.

I have a shad 29 liter top box I did not want a large box just a box to carry hat water gloves etc. well I am glad I went with the smaller box, it looks good on the bike and it can carry a lot more stuff than you would think, It is priced well and it is the company that Mfg. the box that BMW sells with there logo and cost twice as much.

This looks like a nice tail-bag

I bought the Givi rack and already had a Givi V46 topcase. They sell inserts for it in a few OEM colors, including the Yamaha blue of my TMAX. They don't have the BMW blue of the C600. I'm thinking of trying to spray it with Colorrite since they sell a match. It wouldn't have to be exact because it's probably 24 inches away from any of the blue parts, so as long as it's close it's fine. Only problem is my lack of painting talent and the $100 to get the primer, paint, matte clear coast, etc. I put the original black back on for now which actually looks good, but I think the blue would look fantastic. Might give it a try, don't really have much to lose other than $100.

If my GT hadn't had the BMW case on it when I bought it I'd have gone for the Shad. You can get the case and mount for well under $400 and according to Webbike World it's a fifteen minute installation. I really like the Shad made BMW top box, it's just the right size, not too small and not looking like a blimp landing on the back of the scoot. It's also nice to have the same key as the bike. With the underseat storage and the top case on my scooter I can carry just about as much as I could in my GL1800.
