by Francois , 03-09-2014 at 11:51 PM
I got caught in rain today, had to do an hour's riding in the rain. When I got home the area between inside of flex case and main storage comparment, was wet, underneath the seat of my C 600 Sport
Material of flex case was also wet,as well as articles stored underneath the seat.Second time in the rain and both times stuff stored underneath the seat were wet.

Has anyone else had this problem???

(PS Won't help me to contact BMW Customer care,in South Africa it is IMPOSSIBLE ...

I have ridden in heavy rain for several hours on a bmw shop ride, I did not experience any rain inside my under seat storage. I did take out my flex case at one point when I was running auxiliary brake light wiring, but it still functions properly. You might try taking out the case and inspect it. It's a simple affair, just a crap load of screws.

On the Italian BMW Forum they mentioned the same thing...even had pictures of the wet interior. Not sure how common it is, or if it's an isolated incident.

In a similar vein, on the Spanish BMW Forum one of the members did a survey of whether anyone used the Flexcase when parked in the city. The resounding answer was...NONE! Apparently, with the preponderance of Scooter Thieves in European cities, having the Flexcase extended is just ADVERTISING that you now have something in your C600 WORTH STEALING!

In retrospect, that makes perfect sense in Europe....

I guess I'm one of the few who uses their flexy case often. I like to bring the missus on rides, so my flex case get used, I'm worried that someone will swipe my helmets off my rearview mirrors one day if I don't hide it.
