Windshield recalibration anyone?

Late in the fall my C650GT windshield ceased to move up or down. I had been riding on a particularly windy rainy day and moving the shield up and down a bit for protection. The next day it no longer worked. Since it wasn't in a bad spot for me I waited until now to get it looked at. The dealer just told me that it needed to be recalibrated and that the ram ball I had installed in the top of the dash stopped the shield from moving all the way down and was the cause of the problem. I know that it will stop it from going down to its lowest position but I'm a tall guy and don't move it anywhere down in the lower range. Anyway, no defect found so I pay for the labor.

Anyone have anything like this happen to them?

Clearly, for an Ohio State guy they should have fixed the problem with no charge whatsoever.

But, seriously, I also suffer from some altitude problems once in awhile, and also move my windshield around. I have never had any problems.

Had that happen with mine. Ended up they had to replace the ECU for the dash. That was fun.

My screen has packed up too and the clocks just show 12.00 pm and when you wash it the temp goes to -40oC [emoji20]

I havnt come.accross any of these problems yet on thr 650gt's, nick2003black, yours sounds like an ecu problem, could be wiring to it. Get your dealer to plug it in and its worth seeing if it has had a software update. The update was something to do with the clocks and whilst it updates it re-calibrates the screen.
We had problems a couple.of years ago with k1600gt/gtl screens keep losing calibration but softare update cured this.

Seems to me that if their workmanship screwed up your bike you would want them to pay to fix it. That's fair. Now, you did something to screw up your bike and you want them to pay for it also? Is that what you meant?

I had the Kombi firmware update about a year ago. The windshield went stupid and had to be re-calibrated...
