I have a c400gt, latest version, it rides like a hard tail.. what rear suspension. So considering changing the rears. Any feedback from other who have done this, are the results worth the cost. Thanks

I don't own a C400GT yet, but probably will next week. I have used the YSS on a 21 Yamaha Xmax and they are definitely a fairly good option for an aftermarket shock. They are certainly better than most OEM shocks and will likely improve ride characteristics. Like @byee said, they soak up bumps and absolutely provide a more confident and comfortable riding experience. I know this is a YSS question so apologies for digressing. If I buy the C400GT next week, I will go with the Hyperpro shocks. I've had them on the last 5 motorcycles I've owned, and they are unquestionably an apex product (they did not have an option for the Xmax without a very expensive custom build). Hyperpro are shipped from the distributor configured for you with a spring that matches your body weight and riding style. I've used EPM Performance to purchase them each time and they are fantastic to work with. My opinion; suspension upgrades are the best money spent on a motorcycle.

Regarding the YSS brand, they are often counterfeited. I received one of the fakes (confirmed by YSS) which I purchased unwittingly from Ebay. For me, I would only buy YSS from a reputable distributor.

My rear preload is set to 5. Really comfy one up with a full top box. Bit clunky when the box is not on but I live with it as the adjuster is an sob to use. I weigh 14st, 7lbs fully rugged up.

I'm ordering the Hyperpro shocks this week.

Wood the yss void the factory warranty anyone no
I would believe the answer is that replacing the rear shock would not void the warranty on most other components of the bike. But I would not trust my opinion, or anyone else here on this forum to give you a defensible answer. A warranty is a legal contract, varies in limitations and enforceability by state, and can become complex to interpret. I would email BMW to get confirmation or go through the warranty docs to see if it is clear one way or the other.
