I have 5 ICE bikes, most of which are older classics and I have one 1000cc sport-tourer. I ride the CE04 more than all the others combined. The convenience of electric power, having reverse gear and on-board storage means I use it for all the little errands and trips I used to do in my car...

I've since printed out a cover to tidy up the look around the steering head. See pictures attached. I love the riding position now. Hands are further forward and slightly lower. Always felt the bars put my hands and the mirrors too far back and like I needed to lean slightly back further than...

Bar mods complete. Machined the risers, new brake lines fitted, steering hub painted and wiring tidied up.

Getting there on the bar replacement but still a lot to do. Regular bar risers don't fit as somebody at BMW thought it'd be a good idea to not straddle the bar clamp bolts symmetrically and also not split the clamp halves in one plane. I'm going to have to do some machining but have it assembled...

Sounds like it's an A1 license issue? Seems they can definitely unrestrict it but only legally in Germany according to this. https://support.bmw-motorrad.com/s/article/CE-04-Conversion-of-A1-A2-classification-Cvlev?language=en_GB

Could it be a case of although it can actually be done, it is forbidden by law? Here in Australia we have learner approved bikes that are limited to 660cc and 150kW/tonne. Many of these bikes have throttle restrictors and other devices that limit power. While it is quite easy to remove these...

It's hard to say and it depends on your use case. I have only had my CE04 a few months and I still have not used any public charging. I think it will be very rare that I take it on a ride long enough where I will need a public charge, but I'm sure I will be happy to have the fast charger when I...

No, it won't blow up your bike, unless it's faulty or made by a shonky company. Even in that case your bike would probably not be harmed and worse case the cable might simply not work or overheat and melt if for some reason the thermal switches in the connectors don't trip out. Any Type 2 to...

I assume you will be buying the CE 04 with the fast charger option? This allows up to 7kW charging, either 30amps on one phase or 3 x 10amps, 3 phase. Normal CE 04 is limited to ~10amps one phase or 2.4kW in which case it wouldn't make sense to buy this charger. The Juice Booster 3 would work...

Yeh, with the fast charger option the type 2 cable choice is important particularly if like me, you want as compact and light a cable as you can get but still want to access the highest charge rate (around 7kW). The CE 04 fast charger will allow up to 30 amps on one phase or 10 amps on 3 phase...

Thanks, I found this on that Facebook page. I like it!

I would prefer the bars to be lower and further forward. I might try these bars and see how it feels. Would probably need to shorten brake lines and tidy up wiring, etc to make it look decent.

That is the typically stupid thing sales people of Legacy vehicle makers say when they'd prefer to sell their ICE vehicles. Total BS.

Not thrilled about how this looks but must admit the longer I've had it fitted the less I notice it.

Made this carrier using a top plate I bought online. Have tried two types of mirrors. Wing style definitely give more restricted view but have had worse. Not sure which ones I'll stick with. Windscreen causes a lot of buffeting. May go back to original, especially for summer. Levers feel great...
