I also dropped my C600 Sport within the first two weeks because the sidestand wasn't down. I made a simple fix and after 3 years, even though I have occasionally forgotten that the sidestand was not down, I haven't dropped it . IMO the original, unmodified sidestand made the bike lean WAY...
