BMW C Series Owners with Multiply Road Bikes

I currently only have the C600 as I wanted one bike to do it all. But I did have a Yamaha R1 and a Genuine Blur SS220i scooter at the same time and I had more fun on the scooter and even took it to work more often on the highway. Its then that I realized that a highway capable scooter was really...

Anyone tackle the spark plugs yet?

Anyone know what the stock plug number is? I assume they are NGK's just looking for a cross reference for iridium plugs. The owners manual doesn't list the plug number.

Anyone tackle the spark plugs yet?

Wow, that looks like a fun job changing the spark plugs... Do you think there's enough room to reach in there and change them?

Anyone tackle the spark plugs yet?

Can't even really see the motor at all, but I know its hiding in there somewhere ;) From the pictures the top of the head and spark plugs should be up behind the radiator somewhere. I assume I need to remove alot of the side plastics. But wondering if the hump where you feet slide through comes...

BMW Stock vs AeroFlow Low Windshield Photos

Curious if its more rigid than the stock unit as well. The stock one kind of wobbles around at idle.

    Very nice. Much Taller!

    2 up sustained highway riding

Yeah, it seems the engine has to come out to service the CVT, probably why they make the belt "last the life of the bike". Still, makes me wonder why other manufactures don't use that belt setup? Cost perhaps?

    Corbin Seat Photos for C650GT

110F holy poop. How does the scooter like that weather?

    FS: Repsol Moto 4T Rider Oil - 4 Liters - $20

I bought a 4 liter jug of this oil to put in my scooter but it ended up showing up late and I didn't get to use it. Amazon.com: Repsol Moto Rider 4T - 15W50 - 4L. RP165M54: Automotive I am in Southern NH and could certainly deliver within reason, Its probably not worth the hassle to ship this...

    2 up sustained highway riding

I would tend to think they are being overly optimistic too. I also noticed that the 30,000km and 40,000km service was to replace the CVT belt and chain as well. That seems silly... Why would you wait till 20,000km and then do it every 10,000kms after that?

    2 up sustained highway riding

I thought I read somewhere the the Burgman 650 didn't ever need a belt? Why can't we have that? I am assuming the BMW belt it probably north of $500 too. Though I'm sure 12,500 miles is only a recommendation...

    2 up sustained highway riding

I am very careful about tire pressures. I usually set them 1-2 psi over the recommended settings for a little less rolling resistance and mpg.. This is what I saw for recommended maintenance...

    2 up sustained highway riding

My older 220cc scooter didn't like running high in the rpm range for extended periods of time as I think that's what made the CVT belt let go at 1800 miles. However what we have here in the BMW is something a little more beefy.. I'm planning a 4 hour trip with a passenger and wonder how the...

    Motul Motor Oil

All of my cars always got Mobil 1 oil. Really good stuff. But this scooter is a new animal. I'd like to use a fully synthetic oil but I haven't found anything that I am sure would work better than the recommended BMW oil unfortunately. Plus with a 3 year warranty and my doing my own oil changes...

Electric Scooters Are They Worth It?

Battery technology just isn't there. If you lived close to work I could see this working. But for me anyways I commute and travel on my scooter, neither are practical for electric vehicles. My opinion is we have a LONG way to go until we start seeing useful ranges in electric vehicles...

Do you always wear your helmet?

I'm in Southern NH and travel to Mass daily. Maybe I'll see you on the road... Mine is a Blue C600.

    Motul Motor Oil

I would say the motor oil of choice is the BMW motor oil it recommends. (BMW Motorrad 15W-50 Semi-Synth)

    Temp gauge way off

My vote is for Oil Temp, more useful than Water Temp.

    Temp gauge way off

I wonder if the ECU needs the sensor there to use in its fueling calculations or if its purely for the display readout?

    Tire pressure monitor system

You would set them at whatever pressure that makes the display read 35/42. Which would probably be 2 psi higher than normal at 90 degrees according to your pressure gauge. Every 10 degrees of temperature is around 1psi increase.
