Ok, I just ordered a 28 gram set and the extra sliding pieces.
Have any of you folks done this yourself? I did the sliders on my last scooter and I needed to special tool of sorts to hold the variator to brake the nut loose (same on install too)

The living room has direct access to my parking lot so its pretty easy to just roll it in the front door and put up against the wall out of the way. Certainly beats a storage locker.

The washer trick is very interesting indeed. I assume it wouldn't effect top speed?
I was under the impression that the sliders would also effectively change where the belts sits on the pully, so can you do that with the washer trick too?
