Me2 on keeping my C650GT. This replaced my Harley Road Glide. The 650 will outperform the Harley in every aspect. The only thing the Harley had that I miss is a "real" cruise control. Another reason I'm keeping the scoot is because I'm probably married to it. There is not another in Oregon...
OOPS !!! Spoke two soon. Pushed the button on Shinko's but cancelled after reading these posts and also talking with Motorcycle Tire. Going to order Michelin Power Pure Dual-Compound Monday. Thanks to all who contributed to this decision.
Couldn't find the pair of Metzler's in any online tire seller.
After an exhausted search I bought the following tires from:

In Bend, Oregon there's an independent BMW repair shop (http://www.yellowpages.com/bend-or/mip/m-tech-3441147?lid=3441147) that turned mine off at no charge and a year has gone by with no service and no light. FyI
I too wanted to change the exhaust. Probably because I came from the Harley family and change just to be changing seems to be the Harley mentality. The $750 Aprakravic seems to meet that criteria. Stock I'm getting 65 mpg by using non-ethyonal (sp?)fuel. Also can't figure out what Fuel...
I just don't see any difference in the charts to warrant changing out for this muffler. Is the fascination just change for change's sake? I'd like more rumble. What is the real world value of this muffler?
If it hadn't been for this forum I surely would have dropped mine. Is there a ledge just below the filter where you can fish from? Do U just leave the dropped filter in the case? Any comments?
Just made my choice. I sold my 2009 Harley Road Glide last week and kept my 650GT. To all my Harley buddies, "If you ever rode my scoot you'd get off those Harley's ASAP". If the 650 started causing problems, I'd go to Burgman next. These big scoots are my choice for 2 wheels till the end of...
I'd like my wife to be able to hear me when I get home. Anyone tried this exhaust. A whole cheaper than BMW's.
BMW C 650 GT GPR EXHAUST SYSTEM GPR SLIP-ON BMW SCOOTER
I too find this Scoot much more susceptible to wind gusts than my Harley Road Glide. I believe your assessment is right on - ie; the Scoots profile - no "blo-thru".
Did my first oil change and it wasn't pretty. My oil drain pan was too tall so trying to get the bolts loose and getting the pan back under the BMW was a challenge that I didn't meet.
BUT the big drama was the 5" long x 3/8" diameter secondary filter! If it hadn't been for this forum I would...
Been looking for a way to keep a passenger's boots/shoes from scratching the rear panels.
Found something at Knechts in Bend Oregon that works and doesn't look bad.
They carry a line of decals by: TRIMBRITE Products, Custom Scroll Kit T-8481 Cost $6.19
I did have to trim off one end.
Easy 200 miles but I use non-ethanol fuel which is readily available in Oregon. I find that I make up the difference in cost on clear fuel vs premium in a 10% mpg increase
