Jamie, sadly it is required here in MN. I looked at the application form and it specifically says that for motorcycles > 125cc, both the VIN and the engine number are required. I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Sadly, no - that was the first question I asked. The engine number is specifically different from the VIN/frame number.

I haven't ridden a sport. I'm 6'2" and started riding at about 280. Felt very comfortable and I doin't think I looked comically large on the bike - it's a nice feature of being almost as large as one of the big K touring models.

I noticed while I was commuting in to work today that my front brake fluid seems a lot lower than my rear. Anybody know exactly what I should be looking for? I'm paranoid now.

Keep your keys in the ignition until the seat is closed. Problem solved. If I close my seat too fast, it will just bounce off - I've got to very deliberately close the seat for the lock to slide home. I suspect lubricating the latch with some graphite might do the trick.

Yup. Vespas don't have adjustable screens or heated grips/seat. Not to mention the fact that the suspension feels like shit compared to the BMW.

A lot of people buy 50CC scoots because of 1) price, and 2) most states don't require a motorcycle endorsement. I think a 300CC scoot that's a bit lighter, a bit cheaper, and a bit shorter would be great for my wife.
