    I would have to agree. I own a Kymco Downtown 300 and the 650 gt. Both are great bikes, and it's hard to compare the brands.     Why did you choose the BMW?

    I owned a Kymco downtown 300 and my wife rode a People 125. I thought about getting a HD Switchback. I was looking at the BMW C650GT too. I enjoyed the Downtown 300 and the wife now drives it. I felt like the BMW would be more enjoyable riding with my wife and no shifting. Love riding the bike...

    Has anyone done the 6000 mile service? What was the cost of that service. I am hearing they go up. Based on this belt replacement will be $1000 or more. That is 10 percent of the total cost of the bike. If my truck had the same percentage it would cost $4k. That would be considered major cost.

    Thanks for the information. The stock windshield is fine for most riding I do but we are thinking of making a trip from New York to Vermount. I am hoping it will be a little better on interstate and better rain protection.

    I just called the dealership for my fist service at 600 miles. They quoted a price of $275. That seems high. I love the bike but this seems high.

    It seems like my dealer is very expensive to do minor maintenance. I may be worth the time and effort to do it myself.
