I finally decided to upgrade my stock muffler with an Akoprovic exhaust.

I patently waited for 2-1/2 months to take delivery. I could’ve ordered from the USA but at greater expense….import tariffs into Canada.

Installation took all of 10 minutes. The most difficult part was the installation of the carbon fibre deflector. I didn’t want to scratch or crack it while tightening the 3 torx screws. A lower range torque wrench is required (16 ft pounds) for the muffler mounting bolts.

Exhaust note is definitely different. A deeper sound & a bit louder….I like it. Unfortunately I’ve been super busy and haven’t had an opportunity to ride the bike to see if there’s a difference in performance.

I have not decided to remove the DB killer yet. Removing it will void the warranty. The DB killer is pressed in and held securely with little bumps which mate up.

I did reach out to a YouTuber who has removed the DB killer to ask how he removed it……asked me to contact Akoprovic directly. It wasn’t the answer I was expecting. Removing the DB killer does make the exhaust substantially louder and throatier.

Hoping to take my C400GT for a ride this coming Sunday. Stay tune for my performance comments.

I have the 2019 C400GT. It was the same for me with Akoprovic not listing one for my specific bike.

I just ordered the one listed for the C400x

Yup. Stainless steel vs titanium

I am liking it. C400GT seems more responsive on the flats and climbs steep grade hills without ‘petering’ out. It just wants to go.

I was thinking of doing the same but instead I took out 3 weights and the difference I’d amazing

it looks good!

The only regrets for me was the fact I didn’t do the upgrade on day one.

I’m still loving the increase in performance.
