Hi all,

Ive purchased a C400x with sole purpose of riding with my wife. Now, the bike is doing an OK job in handling the weight of both of us. I had to set the pre-load to the stiffest setting and even then it bottoms out in the slightest of the bumps.

My question is, what suspension options are there for this bike that would improve the overall rear. I have seen Ohlins and I am really not interested in that level of performance/cost. I just want something that does a better job for 2 up.

Since I joined this forum about two years ago, off-hand I only recall member @byee having replaced the rear shocks on a C 400. This is the thread I'm referring to, which you may find useful (click the title below, to view the full thread):

I have a 2019 c400gt and ride with pillion most of the time and find the suspension is a bit on the soft side with it set on max preload, any settings other it bottoms out. YSS springs are 150kg i understand although not sure what the standard springs are rated at. Thus have never been able to make a definite choice

I just recently installed a HyperPro SP-BM04-SSE003 suspension lowering kit on my 2019 MBW C400X. It lowers the scooter by 25mm(1 inch).
It has been a great addition for me(a short 5'6" rider). The bike rides better and factory control has not been affected. It does lean a little less on the side stand, but overall it has been a very positive modification.. Cost was about $700 (CDN) ( $380 for the parts, and $320 for professional installation )
