Hi all.

What are people's experiences of pillion riders on the CE-04? I've seen a review that described the pillion seat as being cramped. But, they had some sort of box attached. What's it like without a box?

I'm back to biking after many years (my Mrs last went on the back of my FS1e in about 1983!). Got my CE04 about 6 weeks ago. The seat is plenty long enough but the standard grab handles are just indentations under the rear part of the seat. Mrs C has only got on the bike today to try it as a pillion (not gone anywhere yet) as I've fitted a top case (she thought that she could tip off the back of the the standard seat as there's no backrest). The seat is super grippy almost like a neoprene type surface so I think an experienced pillion would be fine. Saw this a few days ago, just ignore the shorts and t-shirts!

Thanks. Does Mrs C have an opinion on how much space she had and whether she found it comfortable?

It looks fine in the video, thanks. Even though the guy seems to have quite long legs.

She's about 5' 5", in pretty good shape (!) and has plenty of space. The back of the bike has wider side panels where the pillion's legs go but she finds it fine. I'll update once we've actually gone somewhere. The bike has the comfort seat with the hump 2/3 of the way back and I've had no issues with padding. Tbf no one is riding a CE04 all day without stopping anyway..

Thanks. My wife is 5' 0".

We're looking for a bike for commuting to areas around our city.

My wife (5.5” 130lbs) has been riding pillion without a topcase for a couple months now. No worries about sliding off the back, comfy amount of seat space. She only has two complaints:
  1. The stock “handles” under the seat are unusable with gloves. Might as well not exist.
  2. Knee angle is not great to the pillikn’s footrests and her knees ache after about 30min. An hour in and she’s dying.
We’ve solved #1 this week with a Wunderlich rack and Shad TR55 topcase. Solid grab handles and confidence of a seat back. Need some more rides to dial in if this helped with #2 also.

Looked into peg lowering solutions but nothing seems to fit the CE04’s setup.
