Anyone ever changed the rear fairing side panel? Mine got scarred from a loose shopping cart. I have a replacement but can't seem to find a way to get at the fasteners to change it. Do you have to remove the under seat storage liner?

Yes, The Service Manual says remove the carpet and you'll have to remove the luggage compartment light to do that -
Here's the screw locations -

I don't think I had to remove the carpet, just move it out of the way. 2 Torx screws and 2 compression type fittings and then some tabs on the top. Have had it off a couple times to run wiring for rear lights and camera. At least on 2014 model.

I was a bit hesitant to remove the formed carpet for fear of tearing it but after removing it I saw I needn't have worried it's pretty substantial. There are three fasteners, two Torx screws at the bottom of the panel and one plastic rivet. My new panel took a lot of cussing and pushing to get it to fit on properly. Odd since I could fit the old one on and off easily. Eventually I managed to get the thing on and my bike is now pristine once again.

TMV and all, thanks for this post. Wish I had seen it earlier.
I did not need to fully remove the Carpet and the Trunk Light wire has sufficient play w/o removing it.
I was told to do the following by a BWW rep, and it caused me much confusion as it seems #3 is incorrect as the Rear Panel will not slide with a forward or backward motion. The top tabs seem to require a upward motion.
1. I have attached a photo showing the 3 attachment points for the side panel.
2. You can access those by pulling back the carpet liner in the trunk.
3. The top of the panel slides either forward or back once you have removed the screws.
4. It should become evident once you have removed the 3 fasteners.
Also, it appears the Rear Hand Grip interferes with the installation of the Rear Panel; but who has a Star Tip that big around the house. Do you know the size. My T40 was a bit too small.

Rear Hand Grip may interfere with the installation of the Rear Panel; it takes a T45 Star Tip.

HELP... No Luck!
I have removed the rear fairing. When I try to put the new fairing on, I cannot get the top forward of the 3 female clips on the fairing to seat into the bikes male clip. See picture; tab at top arrow by #3.
I have tried to accomplish this patiently several times over the last few weeks. I have even removed the rear hand bar that one would hold onto if riding on the back, to make sure I have plenty of room to attach those top clips with no intrusion by the bar. But no luck whatsoever.
I have seen the instructions to remove it; but are there any instructions anyone has to put it back on? Seems simple I know, but I just can't get it and the other two clips to go on together? What is the secret move I am missing? Thanks!
