This morning the following error message was displayed on my CE04;

" Serious fault in e-Drive! Stop immediately! Have it checked by a specialist workshop"

It was not possible to start / drive. My dealer told me to deliver it to them for check - not easy when it is not running. So I have to bring it on a trailer. I will keep you posted.

This looks similar to a message i got. The bike did eventually start again after turning off for a couple of minutes. I ended up using the warranty company to ship it back to the dealer in another state. They updated the software and said it checked out fine.

Day 1: Getting the same today after disconnecting from charger. Can't help but think that something went wrong in the charging.

Day 2: Won't turn on at all. BMW Roadside assistance will transport (whew!). Dealer service center has never worked with this bike before, I'm sure they're nervous about it!

The dealer told me that they uploaded new software and calibrated throttle.

Have not seen error message since.

Yes I have had this, stop bike, turn off, restart after say 5 minutes.
Had my scooter towed back to dealer last week, rear tail light fell off while riding, tyres after 8,500km shot. Scooter would not restart.
Could not get cable out of scooter.
Alarm came on turned it off with key fob, to be then told by the service department battery was flat in key fob?
No warning came up on app or screen.
I had changed key fob battery they provided to me for free at service.
I have no issues with all these little things, I love the scooter.
It is "new" so I expect teething problems and I use it as my only mode of transport so it gets used.
Hoping to pick up scooter next week.
I ride rain, hail or shine. It is a great powerful quick scooter.
A friend of mine has just bought a BMW road bike. So I got to get back on the road.
Life is an electric ride, so enjoy.

This exact thing just happened to me. I've been riding with one broken taillight for about a week, and this morning when I turned on the scooter I got the same two error messages. It shut off and wouldn't start. I guess I will try again after 5 minutes.

I love this vehicle when it works but I am starting to become rather annoyed with it.

Called the dealer's repair department and he helpfully suggested I check the voltage on the 12v battery to see if it needed charging.

"What 12V battery?" I said. Anyway.. 3 hours and 6 torx screws later, I got the battery out and I am waiting to get a multimeter and charger.

Vinnie- glad you got that sorted. You can attach a pigtail to your battery terminals that would allow you to charge your 12V battery while still attached to the scooter. Don't use a charger greater than 1.25 amps. You could also purchase a canbus compatible charger like those from Optimate that lets you plug into your 12V accessory outlet to charge. The smart charger "wakes up" the outlet through the canbus, allowing the charger to connect.
