Something Honda and BMW try to get right a self balancing mean you don't have to hold it it will stay up right by itself, they have some Gyroscope built in to keep the machine standing up.Looks like a fleet vehicle for metro police and delivery services.
And what is that self balancing feature that they speak of?
Thanks, it’s gotta feel a bit weird irl but I guess it’s helpful on that new model having a higher center of gravity due to the metal cage.Something Honda and BMW try to get right a self balancing mean you don't have to hold it it will stay up right by itself, they have some Gyroscope built in to keep the machine standing up.
Hi I don't want to bring your hope down but just for the CE04 the concept bike got release 2017 and the actual release was 2021 and the sales started in 2022.Hmm, nothing new on the Vision CE so far. I doubt it'll be in showrooms next year. And I really want one!
It would make sense if they can increase the battery and the power of the engine, if you had all those elements on the actual CE04 you will have a heavier unit there fore more power consumption.I'm sadly aware of that. My hopes are due to the fact that while the CE-04 was a completely new construction, the Vision CE is apparently based on the CE-04, so one would assume that the only development necessary would be the integration of the cage.
That is, unless they really want to keep that self-stabilizing feature, which would be new, but where I'm not so sure is really a killer feature.
I think they already have a prototype built, but don't know if that's just a model or actually runs.
So would I be happy with a CE-04 with cage and seatbelts? Sure.
I don't think that's relevant, the CE-04 is a heavy beast as it is, so I doubt a few pounds will make a difference. It would make sense if they can increase the battery and the power of the engine, if you had all those elements on the actual CE04 you will have a heavier unit there fore more power consumption.
The aerodynamics side with the 04 seems so far under considered, excepting insofar as people are noting that it definitely has quite a big part to play in increasing range. To this end, it would be great if we saw some larger, more aerodynamic screens being developed. I come from an airhead (BMW aircooled boxer twin) background and remember there was a particular screen BITD that was developed on these lines – a US brand called Saeng, which fitted other marques too…I don't think that's relevant, the CE-04 is a heavy beast as it is, so I doubt a few pounds will make a difference.
Plus, to keep the costs down the powertrain for the CE-04 is derived from car parts, I think the battery is part of the battery from an i4(?) and the motor is also derived from a power unit from the iX3.
So they're unlikely to change that, as it would also break compatibility with the CE-04.
I haven't ridden one, but reviews say the CE-04 is really quick off the line as it is, so I don't think that would make a difference.
And for range, aerodynamics play a larger role than weight with a motorcycle, so it might only be a few miles less. If it makes 50 miles, that should be enough for most people. It is designed for cruising around town, after all, not for long road trips.

Regarding the Vision CE, ideally I'd like to see something that makes use of the cage and that provides weather protection, such like a full windshield and roof. As looking through plastic isn't ideal, that would probably need to be a glass windshield with a wiper, as the C1 had. So that's probably unlikely, I expect they will offer a polycarbonate high screen and a roof, but a gap will remain between them, exposing the rider to rain and wind. Well, you can't have everything...To this end, it would be great if we saw some larger, more aerodynamic screens being developed.
For many videos, YouTube will generate subtitles in a language of your choice. That includes this one, and here's what you need to do:Very cool, thank you very much for the find, Yves!
Sadly, there are no English subtitles, but maybe you could enlighten us a bit about what's being said?
It looks like they built a functional prototype? Any info on a production date (although they're likely not to mention that anyways)?
And you mentioned the self-balancing, which is clearly visible in the video, but the rear of the scooter also shows a Radar badge, does that mean it's got blind-spot alerts? That would be way more useful than the self-balancing thing, IMHO...

Hi Bill,For many videos, YouTube will generate subtitles in a language of your choice. That includes this one, and here's what you need to do:
Click on the Auto-translate rectangle area just below that French (auto-generated) area. See the pick under 2) in my post above (after clicking on the Subtitle line -- see pic under item 1)).Hi Bill,
And here I was thinking AI would eventually be good for something.
When I opened the video, I looked at exactly the setting you are referring to.
I'm not sure why, but I only see
- Off
- French (auto-generated)
Maybe the translation function works only for people who have a better Youtube account than I do.
