By the way, these guys may soon provide an answer.

I have enjoyed a ton if engine braking on both Kymco Downtown 300i and T-max IronMax 530 for years, C650 is weaker in this regard unless you get a clutch that stays connected for longer, like Dr.Pulley’s. Even the stock clutch has a too large neutral spot around idle RPMs so yes it need improvement or BMW better make it wet when they respond to Chinese innovations eating up market.
I say “quickshifter is a stylus, CVT is the iPhone”.

Well, being here in the US there is only 1 maxi scooter available. That is the Kymco AK550, or used maxi's.. Depressing.
Well, I'd include the 530cc, properly-leaning, MP3 as a maxi that's available in the USA:

I rode a rental MP3 (with a much smaller engine) for a day on vacation, with my wife riding pillion, back in 2008. I just wanted to check them out, as they had been recently introduced here.

And in 2019, I rode a Yamaha Niken for five days on an Alps tour, just to check that out (gobs of power, but too tall and too top-heavy for me).

I consider those three-wheelers the same as scooter, bikes, what have you.

And I certainly agree with you regarding the depressing nature of what's available -- or not -- over here. I did a demo ride of a T-Max at Americade, oh, maybe a dozen years ago, and liked it. When Yamaha stopped importing those, for four or five years in a row I sent paper, postal, mail to Yammy NA, asking them to sell the T-Max here. They ignored me, and I stopped writing a couple of years ago.

we are heading back to Italy in 3 weeks. Lake Garda area. I have already contacted a Yamaha dealer/ rental store outside of Verona to ride a couple different units.
The MP3? yes, a maxi scooter, but I don't recognize them as they are not a 2 wheeler.
Problem with the US is no one appreciates the scooter based world. so, when this dies, hopefully someone imports a 550-750 cc that i will buy.

Hey, have fun!

I rode around there myself -- on a C 400 X(!) -- two years ago. If you're curious and have some time to kill, here's my gallery of highlight-reel videos and a few hundred still photos:

What I mean is not “add another bike” but “get rid of C650 and use this instead”
Being in the USA: a C 400 GT.

And regarding your question -- “get rid of C650 and use this instead” -- that's almost exactly what I did. That is, my sole bike at the time that I purchased my first C 400 GT was an ancient Burgman 650 Exec (which I then sold a few months later).

Watched a few, stunning beautiful!!!!!!
Thanks for the kind words.

I had recorded each of the nine days in toto, and then spent many evenings over the next couple of months extracting highlight-reel videos. I think a group of my favorites are on Day 3, the up and down runs of Susten and Furka passes.

For the short version -- kind of like looking at album covers, without actually playing LPs -- is just to right-arrow your way through the video (large) thumbnails, to see the "cover art" I selected, without actually clicking/looking at the videos.

I got an Aprilia SRV 850 for a second bike. Nice power but it needs some work to make it great for me. Suspension is better than R1300GS i swear (for bad tarmac).
