Corbin saddle for C650GT

Someone a year ago or so installed the Corbin saddle for the C650GT. I'm wondering if that person could give us an update? My biggest concern is water; have you been caught out in any serious rain storms? How long did it take for the saddle to dry out?

My past experience with this brand of saddle is that even though they wrap the foam in plastic to prevent the foam from sucking up water like the giant sponge it is, the sewn seams on the upholstery are NOT sealed against water penetration, so water will soak in and fill the space between the cover and the foam. It then takes DAYS for this water to completely evaporate out, meaning that until it does, you have to explain the embarrassing wet spot in your crotch every time you get off the bike...

I put a Corbin on mine about 9 months ago. I've had a couple of occasions to ride in the rain recently and a few times that the bike is out in the rain. I have "wiped and ridden" with no wet spot at all - I am gonna call it it "nicely water resistant".

Do it - by far (no, I mean FAR) the best Mod $$$ I've ever spent on any of my bikes.

Thanks. That embarrassing wet spot has left a lasting impression on me, as you can tell. I've had Corbins on my first two BMWs (and that's where the concern came from) and on my first and last Buell. I never really rode the Buells in the rain so I don't know if the issue was finally fixed by Corbin or not.

Just type in Corbin saddle and it will pop up and than just look up your bike. I bought a Corbin saddle for a Honda bike I bought in May and it took a month to get it so plan ahead

I also have had a couple of Corbin saddles. Hard to beat them. I'd be interested in changing saddles on my GT but the stock seat is doing well for me.

After this last trip to Indianapolis and back, I decided to order the Corbin. I ordered it with a gray leather seating area, black "carbon fiber" sides with a red welt and red logo. Also ordered a matching oval-back back rest. Photos once it arrives and is installed...

I've been using the Airhawk R as a less expensive way to get comfort over the stock seat. I am very interested in how much difference the back-rest makes because that is my only current wish. Really I think the back rest will put me over the line on a new saddle purchase.

I'm torn between the Corbin and the Russell Day Long. What pushed me towards the Corbin was the fact I could order the seat and continue riding with the stock seat while I waited. Russell would require me to send in my seat, which would mean I couldn't ride it till the recovered seat came back.

I've always thought the Russell saddles looked "strange" on a motorcycle... but it really won't look all that odd on the scooter. I figure if I don't like the Corbin, I could continue using it while sending in my stock saddle to Russell. Then, depending on which seat I prefer, the other will go on eBay...

The stock seat is a perfect fit for me (that saves me a few bucks ).

I also agree about the looks of most of the Russell seats, but I saw a smaller one somewhere recently on a dual purpose and it did not look so "over stuffed".

Since I live near enough I'm gonna try the ride-in service at Russell so the position is right for me. They also seem to have a lazy boy looking back rest that I like. They are booked till the end of October for this so unless there's a cancellation it will be a while before I can post confirming pics. They do look like lazy-boy seats but no one will notice when I'm riding it and I can cover it when I'm off of it.

Just found out from the wife that the saddle was delivered today. Too bad I don't have a scooter to mount it on at the moment...

Ah well... I'll take a couple of photos when I get home so you can all at least see what it looks like.
