Howdy folks -

When I took delivery of my scoot a month ago, the dealer mentioned that the license plate bracket was missing, and that they had filed a warranty claim to get one shipped in.

Chatted with the dealer today, and it turns out that BMW claims the 650GT doesn't come with a license plate bracket - which I commented seemed odd because having the license plate attached as I do is bending the plate.

The attached image is from a parts catalog, the missing part is labeled as "1".

Did anyone else's bike come with/without this part?

Any advice on how to proceed if I should, in fact, have it?

They are full of S*#T! If you look at the picture, the missing part is where the federally-mandated rear side reflectors go. This is a new low...

Just checked. The FMVSS requires of motor cycles 3 red and 2 amber reflex reflectors.

On the rear: 1 red about the center line as far rear as practically applicable
On the sides: 1 amber as far front as practically applicable, 1 red as far rear as practically applicable.

On my ride, the side red reflectors are located on each side where the "2" points in the diagram above, but there is no rear reflex reflector.

That's good for a 1k fine per incident up to a million dollars :P

Skutorr, does your bike have this part?

That's CLEAN! Nice Job.

thanks...but can't take all the credit - Rizoma make such quality gear! the install is quite a bit more difficult than others I have done (have a Rizoma tailtidy on my 848) I think because of the FlexCase. that, and getting the entire OEM mudguard + holder etc off took a solid hour.
