Scooter was sitting for about 2 weeks. When I started it yesterday the windshield up/down function did not work. I checked all fuses and all looked operational. The switch "clicks" no noise from the motor, so I am still thinking that he motor which moves the windshield up or down does not get power. Anybody had this problem ? Any quick checks I can do before taking it to the dealer. Bike has about 2K miles.

I left it with the dealer , will see where it goes. I do not recall any battery issues. I rode it , left for vacation turned on and that was it. I would expect of the battery would of been low or such it would of not start. Let's see what they say , will give them a call later today.

I have a 2013 C650GT and there is an open recall on the multi-function handle bar switches for replacement under warranty. $230-$250 each depending which switch. May be the trouble.

The dealership sestets they "calibrated the windshield movement using the diagnosis tool" so I think than maybe there was a low battery condition or something while it was sitting , which would be odd but certainly had no problem stating after it sit fro 2 weeks or so.

This would suggest that if you disconnect the battery for any work most lily you will need to "re-calibarte" this which seems very annoying. Maybe I have to look into "acquiring " one of these tools. I observed that hey also changed (corrected ) the time displayed (it was 5 minutes behind), which I suppose also is done using the diagnostic tool.

I have had the battery disconnected and had no problem with the power shield after.
I own a gs911 and I am amazed at what can be done. I do believe it will calibrate the shield as it will test it when you want it to. You can set the tire pressure monitors, and other models have features I have never heard of till I have scanned their bike computers.

I'll second that. I have the wireless GS911, it's expensive but indispensable if one wants to do much work on their bike. I was wondering if my cooling fan was kaput because it never seems to come on. With the GS911 I can read the actual engine temperature and discovered even after considerable idling in hot weather the engine temperature stays pretty cool. Want to know who many rpms you need to get the alternator charging? Piece of cake since you can watch a lot of engine and system parameters in real time with the diagnostic tool.

for 399 it may be worth to just avoid the trouble of going to the dealer for a reset or recalibration. If I ever get myself to change the oil the reminder will need to be reset which would require a trip to the service. I used to do mot of the maintenace work on my ST1300 , this should not be much harder.
