Good stuff. Some noticeable differences in sound, looks, and lighting. Gas cap and seating material changed, too. BMW continues its investment in this line.

Wonder how much cheaper it would've been to just redesign the mirrors so they actually let you see what's behind you!?

Now there's a thought. I haven't gotten any of those little stick-on wide angle mirrors yet but I'm sure thinking about it.

I tried a couple - round type and rectangle type. Never liked how they worked.

Yep! pretty much worthless! I put 'em on, and a month later took 'em off!

Thanks for your replies. A little disappointing because at this point all of my riding is in-town commuting, running errands, etc., and I'd sure like to have more visibility to the side and rear. Maybe an array like on a British Mod scooter?
