Should I buy, what should I buy?

Maybe some of you have seen this one,

Cool looking but might be lacking in wind protection.

I saw a more current piece about it a couple of days ago , insinuating it was actually going to be built.

Note, the Visordown site is interesting, and if you look in the "scooter" section , has lots of road tests, although, for a lot of models we don't get here.

There have been developments. The bank balance is still intact - Mrs Beerman has raised a practical objection (as she is prone to doing) to the C650: namely, that until the garage is reorganised to accommodate my Vespa, various road bikes and other 'stuff', the C650 won't actually fit. This revelation will necessitate a period of measurement, reflection and tidying whilst I ponder next steps.

I thought I'd update as members of this forum gave helpful advice. I said at the start that I was unclear as to whether I wanted a retro style mc vs the brilliant practicality that the 650 - and scooters generally - offers.

Well, I've ordered a Moto Guzzi v711. A key part of that was the willingness of the MG dealer to allow me an all day test ride - BMW Wolverhampton wouldn't allow a test ride. I know other dealerships would, but they are my closest - so I still don't know how it rides. My loss maybe, but the V7 was fun.

Thanks for your help and advice - I may well be back! And I still have my Vespa...

Glad you got what flipped your switch. And hang in here with us and let us know how the V7 is working out. A lot of us own and ride bikes in addition to or instead of a BMW UMV.

Good for you! I almost added a v7 ii in March. Went for the Piaggio BV 350 instead.

It does look cool, but I wouldn't buy one if I was thinking of doing any off-road adventure riding on it. There's a reason all of the true adv bikes have 19 and 21 inch front wheels. It's because the smaller wheels handle like pigs off-road. I was riding my 650 Burgman on back roads one day when the road turned to dirt. I thought what the heck but ended up turning around about a mile later because it scared the bejesus out of me. While I managed to keep from dropping it, I said never again. I guess my R1200GS has spoiled me. I'm not afraid to take it anywhere. Creeks, river crossings, rock strewn single track trails, bring em on!!
