I have a c600 sport with 1500 miles when I noticed lots of rattling noises on initial take off
and part throttle. when I came to completes stop the engine quieted down. it was almost
like the oil wasn't getting pumped thru and had to catch up.
after 2 visits to bmw I left it there. I also looked online and found threads from europe
that had described the exact same problem. the fix they say, was to replace the
timing chain tensioner. I copied all the occurrences that were posted and took them
to the dealership. 5 days later, they called and said they too replaced the tensioner
under warranty and now all is well and dare I say even running better now.
Point of the story is that if I hadn't found the posts from here to show them how
BMW Europe was handling the problem, I am not sure if they would have proceeded.
So thanks for everyone sharing their experiences with the scooter.
