After doing some searching, I'm wondering if the Mahle OC306 oil filter fits the C400GT. Can anyone confirm this?

Pleasure! It is at Wunderlich. Thanks! That does make it appear this filter will work. What company is offering this one?
I do know, from owning previous Beemers, that Mahle does make filters for BMW. Now, whether or not they make all of the BMW oil filters I really don't know. The remaining question is whether it makes any sense to buy this one from Wunderlich, or another supplier, rather than buying the OEM one at a BMW dealer. For me, I'm going to make that decision based on availability and cost.Pleasure! It is at Wunderlich.

So I’d say I’m not questioning that logic of price shopping, but I am. It’s a $10 delta either way. Why not just get the best filter available? You can get any cross referenced filter in a day or two so availability is not really an issue generally.I do know, from owning previous Beemers, that Mahle does make filters for BMW. Mahle/Mann oil filters are excellent filters, I use them on my 911 Porsche. I also worked at Anco Wiper blades which at that time was owned by Champion(spark plugs), so I got a 1987 Fram Master (that has oil filter specs) catalog that you don't see any more. I used it to up-size all my lawn products with the standard filter length, the mid-length and the longest length. All filters have 7 specs that don't always repeat on some of the cross ref'd P/N/'s so don't save a few $$ and trash your motor. I even have my personal filter cross-ref spreadsheet that I could upload/attach if i knew how!??, this is only my 3rd post and I'm not understanding all this wizardry! So I’d say I’m not questioning that logic of price shopping, but I am. I’m not trying to be impolite. I just am failing to understand.
I don't really want to rain on your parade, but I've read over the years that K&N does NOT want the customer to use the built-in nut for tightening. Rather, it is my understanding that the nut is to be used as a convenient mechanism for removal only.I use K&N so you can take a wrench to tight to 11 NM
