Hi

I have a 2019 C400X with a TFT screen and since yesterday after I connected the BMW app going on a ride, my settings were changed and my Multi-Controller is not working anymore, at the lowest level menus. I can move to the left and right but not up or down, it is stuck on the highest level. I tried to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery, but nothing has changed, still no up and down on the controller.

Has anybody experienced this before and how to fix it?

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards

1) In the two years that I've been following the forum, I don't recall reading anything like that. And a search here didn't provide anything useful.

2) I did a Google search -- bmw "wonder wheel" not working -- and read some posts in other forums. It seems that similar problems fall into two problem areas: loose external connections (e.g., https://www.ukgser.com/community/threads/r1200gs-multi-function-control-wheel-problem.314326/ ), and failed internal components (e.g., https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/...eel-multi-controller-spinning-freely.1403366/ ). Either way, it doesn't look like a fun job.

You didn't pressure-wash the scoot lately, did you?

Sorry for your problem. Bottom line: there are a lot of posts on the 'net about problems with that controller, but no clear-cut single solution to all the problems.

Hi Bill,

Thank you for your quick response, and the investigation you have already undertaken from your side. Let me look at your suggestions; maybe it could be useful, one never knows, and there is no pressure washing done.

I will get back to this forum, with more questions, or maybe someone else will respond.

Hi. A few days ago my controller started clicking when I tilted it to the side. It really sounds like the microswitch has made a sound. Everything works as before, it just clicks. The scooter was not washed, nor used in a dusty place, so that's why it became like this. Interesting.

Hi, it works for me, it just clicks loudly. I'm not happy about it. But it works, that's the point now, my controller is unique. Unfortunately, I no longer have a warranty.
