I have ordered the whole assembly surrounding the thensioner (sliders, chain, oil line, hydraulic tensioner) so are the parts that i ordered the fix to the problem because currently i have a mechanical tensioner and the parts that i have ordered by my vin number are for the hydraulic conversion (at least i hope so) IMG_7872.webpthis is what i have ordered and i will take it to the mechanic in a few days
IMG_8056.webpthis is how it currently is.
So will the new parts fit and is it going to solve my problem.

Somewhere on this forum is a thread that describes the conversion process and parts; unless you get confirmation here from someone who knows for sure, you may want to check out that particular thread.

Good luck; I've decided to stick to just replacing the mechanical tensioner on my 2016 Sport whenever the current one starts to fail again (they seem to give off ample warning before really failing, at least that's what I am counting on. I may buy one of those manually adjustable tensioners for my next swap which would make the job even easier).

...and welcome fo the forum!

Thanks for the reply, i have spoken with a certified bmw technician and i asked him about the manually adjusted tensioner and he said it could have a catastrophic impact on the engine because it stretches out the chain and there is a high possibility of the chain snapping over time.
I have the martin tomcyzk edition #71/99 i don’t know ig there is any difference in the engine.
