Hello all!

I've recently found some time to finally install the handguards on my bike. Here are some picture to share how it looks!

Comes with a switch so that you can turn it off even if the ignition is turned on!

Seraphtan, nice top box. What is it? What kind of Mount did you use?
I'm using the H&B (Hepco & Becker) Xplorer top box, with the H&B mount. Obviously it doesn't come in this design. I got a sticker shop to do a Tokidoki wrap on the box. Softens the look just so those annoying people on T-Maxs would stop egging me on for Highway races....

Thanks Serapthan. Yeah, some people can be annoying. Ignore them.

Thanks for the response on the top box. Will consider switching to that box.

On your Acerbis Vision, you set it up as an aux light? Not as an additional signal light? How did you wire it?

On the Acerbis Vision, care to share how you wired it?

Hello hardright,

I love the H&B Xplorer top box as there is little wasted space used for the lid. Unlike Givi boxes where the box is split 50/50, and you having to balance some of your cargo on top of each other as you close the top. The H&B Xplorer allows you to dump your stuff in till it reaches the brim, without fear of them falling out, and just dropping the lid on. Great for getting stuff in, when you're in a hurry, or if you're not particularly trained for the circus. :p

The Acerbis Vision handguards come with its' own switch to allow you to turn it on/off. I connected the cables to the fuse box. To be specific, connecting to the fuse for the 12V socket power, as I already have my panel emblem LEDs connected to the ignition.

The Acerbis Vision lights are designed more as an auxiliary light, rather than a turn signal. I can ride my C600 at night with only my DRLs, and the Acerbis Vision turned on. This is how bright it can be to light up the road in front of me. Though the throw is definitely not as powerful / far as the standard head lamps.

Thanks for this information Stephan. I got my Acerbic Vision recently and I noted that if I take the bar ends off to install it, it hits the side mirrors and the dash. Which means I need to have bar ends to prevent this. Using the R&G bar ends I currently have won't cut it as it make the hand protectors rotate. Might have to get a longer bolt for the hand guards and the R&G to prevent the rotation.

Let me know how that goes! I have my handguards setup without the bar ends, and they are adjusted to barely touch the underside of the mirrors at a full lock. I'm not keen on keeping it this way, and am looking for a solution to mount the guards with the bar ends!

Seraphtan, I find that the handguards touch the bottom of the side mirrors and barely touches the side panels. Not good as a slight change in handguard angle can be disastrous. Am looking for side mirrors to replace the stock ones but it has to be higher than stock. Lowering it will just aggravate the situation and make the handguard hit the side mirror. If there is a way to raise the stock side mirrors an inch, it would be sufficient to clear the bottom of the side mirrors and the side panels.

Am also considering shaving off some material from the handguards but this will be my last resort.

I was considering purchasing a set of R&G sliders that was designed for the Ducati Multistrada, to fit OEM hand guards. Not sure if the link is going to work, but I'll add it here anyways.

This set of bar ends does look like it comes with the necessary bolts. It seems to clamp onto the hand guard mount as well. Thought it might help keep the guards from shifting. Am trying to get a confirmation from TwistedThrottle regarding the fit though. Had a little difficulty finding the handlebar size of the Multistrada.

I have the R&G bar ends and it just made the rubbing on the side panels and the side mirrors worse. I used only the washer portion of the R&G and that gave me a little but still rubbing. The real solution is to extend the height of the side mirrors by an inch in order to have the hand guard clear the panels and not touch the side mirrors.

Maybe I need to have an ABS or aluminum extender made and install it in the base of the stock side mirrors. Or look for a better side mirror. A higher one. A low one will not work.
