Americade 2014

In full swing already up in Lake George, NY. I'm heading up (for the day only) on Friday. Will any forum members be there? I'll be on "Snoopy." Plan on heading over to the Iron Braid guys at the TourExpo to get Snoopy's levers covered. Every bike I've owned since my 1993 Yamaha Venture Royale has had Iron Braid covers on the levers. I think they look cool, and they make riding in the dead of winter a lot nicer (since you don't have to touch the ice cold aluminum directly).

I have the "fringe" on my K1200LT, but that's the last bike I had them on. Every other bike, I've just had the levers covered, no fringe.

I've never ridden with covered levers. Sounds like something I might like on mine.

Great adventure in beautiful country.

I'm taking the smaller bike (the Stella 125) to Amerivespa in New Orleans next week. She's going there on a hitch carrier because the non-super-interstate-route is probably 8 or more hours.

You'll see some of my friends whom are on the Cannonball finishing at Amerivespa. Wish I could be there, sounds like a bag of fun.

So just came home from Americade today only went for the day, we usually spend the night and return the next day, didn't do that this time and glad we came home today. There are a lot less vendors this year I would say about 50 or so vendors are missing also a lot of the bike companies are missing, also not many people were there that could have been because of the forecast of rain (which didn't happen) But just the feel of it just didn't feel the same, just a heads up don't expect to much this year, you would think with economy in better shape there there would have been more going on. It could be because Laconia is not back to back with Americade there is a week separating them.

Laconia attracts a very different crowd than Americade. Doubt it has anything to do with it.

This is what the braiding looked like on my TMAX when I had it done in 2012:

I see you went with the Bumblebee look on the TMAX.

The blue one I traded in was sitting out front on display today when I picked my C600 up from it's 600 mile service. I kind of felt bad, like I abandoned it. Strange, I know.

I didn't see BMW at all at Americade this year. That's odd, because the primary reason I bought the C650GT last year is because I took it for a demo ride at Americade! In the demo ride area where BMW was last year, Indian was there with demo bikes.

At Fort William Henry I saw Indian, Victory, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and Kymco. Yamaha and Harley Davidson were on Beach Road (so you did NOT require an "Americade Wrist Band" in order to take a demo ride with their bikes. Was BMW there, only located somewhere else?
