Remember that PDF shop manual I bought on eBay and wrote about a few days ago? I made extensive use of it over the last two days.
I added two "external," i.e., dash-mounted, devices: a 3BR Powersports Panel TAPP USB port, and a momentary-contact switch.
The USB port is for powering my GoPro, which I typically use to record my day trips (and which, therefore, also serves as a front-facing dashcam, should anything untoward happen) and occasional tours (for instance, my wife and I partook of two Edelweiss tours last month, and I had a memory card for each day's ride). And unlike on those tours, I don't want to squish a USB cable through a closed cubby door.
The switch is to activate a Mo-Door garage-door opener that I just removed from my (for-sale) Burgman 650.
