When you get up to speed (65-70mph) it gets really loud. For some reason below 55 mph it is bearable.

I am hoping that Dr. Pulley sliders/rollers will bring the rpms down and make it quieter.

I wear a half helmet
when I do the engine sounds very loud
when I don't wear a helmet it is very quite and smooth sounding
all my kymcos were the same way
I think it the way the helmet picks up certain sound
it is like a loud clanking sound no helmet no sound
and I sit behind a big windscreen so I hear every thing
not saying ride with no helmet but try it and see if the sound you here goes away
I bet it does and then don't worry bout it
and my timing chain make a lot of noise

I do not notice the sounds that people talk about. The only thing I notice is the clicking of the fuel injectors as they fire at idle, above idle it is smooth and much quieter. One of my sons has a 12 BMW 328i it makes the same sound at idle as my bike it may be a BMW thing. the injector solenoids may be similar in design.
