C650GT Common Operating Load?

I am adding some LED driving lights to my C650GT and am also looking at heated clothing. I don't want to stress the electrical system on the scooter, so does anyone know the common operating load of the C650GT?

I know the alternator is rated at 588 watts / 43 amps (according to the owners manual). My question is how much of that is used to operate the scooter under normal circumstances ('common operating load') so I will know how much I have to play with.

The LEDs I have bought are 20 watts total, and a generic heated jacket liner (80 watts), pants (45 watts), and gloves (30 watts) would come out to 175 watts total (all numbers approximate).

If I know the 'col' I could figure out how much is left for the beer cooler saddlebags, the top case convection/microwave oven, and the front fairing entertainment system...

 :D

Don't know the actual number, but it puts out more than enough for running the heated grips, heated seat, and Aerostich Kanetsu AirVantage heated liner. The liner alone would KILL the electrical system on my old TMAX, but the C650GT has no problems at all.

By the way, they USED to have a warning about using that liner on a BMW with a CAN-BUS system. The warning is no longer there so maybe the newer models are CANBUS compatible? Mine is the older model and has no issue but I don't believe our scoots use the CANBUS system anyway.

Jaime this is from the BMW Technical Features In Detail document: "The tried-and-tested electrical system of the current BMW motorcycle models is also used on both scooter models of BMW. The electrical system consists of a CAN-bus system (Controller Area Network) with the instrument cluster (I-cluster), engine control unit (BMS-E) and ABS control unit networked for
the standard version of the scooter. The Vehicle Theft Alarm system (VTA) and the tire pressure monitoring system (RDC) will be installed if the respective optional equipment is ordered."

Interesting. Didn't think a CANBUS bike would also have a fusebox...

In any event, the accessory socket is not attached to the CANBUS on my scooter... it's directly into the fusebox as it is always "hot," even with the ignition turned off.

A member of the forum has exactly what you are talking about. Vazbro has drilled is glove box to add connectors for his heated clothing. He has added dual HID Morrimoto projectors and he has installed Piaa led lighting that is activated by the highbeam switch for extra punch. I have not talked to or seen him out and about in some time (we happen to have the same Motorrad dealer) but I've also not read any complaints either so I must assume that everything is OK with the install.

Uhh, excuse me, clearly you have the "got to know" reversed.
