Chain adjuster

Yesterday I went to change a drive change adjuster in the rear drive. I have attached 3 photos one of the pictures shows stage 1, 2 and 3. You may notice the largest hump that is stage 3 and the smallest is the stage 1(that I removed) I then installed stage 2 and have stage 3 on the shelf for next time (in about 25,000km. At the present time I have 29,000km on the odometer. This maintenance is called for when there is 15mm of play in the chain. While doing this work I also changed the rear drive oil with a half litre 75W90 synthetic gear oil that is what is called for. I found about .7 litter I drained out. (my garage still smells)

I saw a few posts in the past that the entire chain set has been replaced (your dealer took you for a ride) and only the adjuster had to be replaced at a cost of about $30 and Labour (I did myself). I also kept the stage one so someday when the chain set gets replaced I will already have stage 1 in my hands

So you have about 18000 miles on the chain looks pretty good I assume you found the chain in tolerance of spec how long do you think the chain has before it needs to be replaced. Since it is running in gear oil all the time I Think it would last quite awhile.

If I was to guess the chain adjusters need to be replaced at approximately 25,000k and there are 4 levels, as you can see I have 3 and will have to buy 1 more to get the complete set. If they are replaced every 25,000 I should get 100,000km (60,000 miles) I am not sure if the chain will stretch faster as time goes and the mileage gets higher. When I get to 50,000km I will check again. These adjusters seem not to wear so I will be able to use them again when I change the chain and sprockets in the future.

Does the bike came from the factory with stage 1 installed or without?

Can you please let me know if the bike came from the factory with any chain tensioner already installed?
My bike is starting to make the noise that the chain need adjustment. I need to order the next stage but need to know if I need stage 1 or stage 2 in case stage 1 was OEM installed.
Thanks,

level 1 is in the bike when you bought it and you will need number 2.

As for when I replaced mine at around 15,000 miles. There is a way of checking by opening the black cover on the lower outside and seeing how much play 3/4 of an inch is what to look for.
