A deal is in the works. Price is agreed, purchase order sent to my credit union, loan approved and check in my hand. Now it's matter of completing the paperwork and getting it back to the dealer. It is the C600 skutorr quoted earlier in the thread. Silver 2013. Thanks for all of the help. Of course no one will believe me without pics so hold your horses already; I don't have it yet!

You won't regret it.

There are three things about the TMAX that I miss. The first being the mirrors which, despite not being terribly stylish, are actually functional.

I guess because the underseat storage is so limited, the TMAX has a "Helmet Lock" that allows you to secure your helmet to the outside of the scooter (assuming it uses D-rings to fasten the neck strap, that is).

Finally, there is a light in the storage area under the saddle. This comes in EXTREMELY handy when you're hunting for something under the seat at night. I was rather surprised the BMWs don't have this feature. Heck, even the trunk of my 1999 K1200LT has a light, so BMW is familiar with the concept!

I tried aftermarket mirrors; they looked better but worked poorly. So, I custom shortened the OEM mirrors and they are perfect! Still great vision without the Alien Bug Antenna look...

Here is the Shortened OEM compared to the Aftermarket:

The Ohio GTs do have a trunk light (turn key to on and it's there). Perhaps Big Apple area GTs don't have the light because of the bodies that typically get stored in NYC vehicle trunks.;)

I'm going to have to check when I get home. I seem to remember I didn't HAVE to turn on the key in order for the TMAX luggage light to come on, though... just lift the seat.

The light in the trunk of the LT will not turn on if the fork is locked, but if the ignition is off and the fork is NOT locked that light will turn on.

Yup, the GT does the same thing when you turn the bike off and leave the key in the off position. Not sure about your C600, but on the GT you can keep the trunk light on by having the key turned to the "on" position (like the accessories position on cars). Head lights remain off.

Hi everyone-

Late to the conversation and new to this forum. I have a 2012 Yamaha Majesty 400 and really like it. I bought it in December 2012. Its my first 2 wheel form of transportation and although I was looking at the BMW c600 and c650, I didn't want to spend that much money when I didn't know if I was going to love riding so I went with the Yamaha. 2 Years later, I m back on the 650GT. So are there are other Majesty to BMW owners out there? Any advice?
I test rode the 650gt and my only concern was that Im 5'8" and that bike was a lot heavier and seemed taller than my Majesty. I seemed to got a hang of it quickly and Im not loner concerned. Now I have to just work a deal with the dealer. The first offer was a DEMO...too many scratches, etc for me....so I think Im going new. They talked about giving me the $400 rebate and they would match it so Im about 10.3k. I know they have to make a profit but I don't want to be ripped off. Is that a fair price?

Thanks for your help. Im really looking forward to getting this bike

I paid $10.5k for my sport and about three months later BMW had a rebate on the sport of $1k. That was my experience in a nutshell.

Hey Jesse, welcome. It's about time you spoke up:D. Pricing is very localized. Grey.hound (or as he is affectionately known by his mother....g-dog) may be the forum expert on pricing as he really spent some time searching and showed a lot more patience than many of us. To Xian's comment, one sure way to generate a new round of rebates though, is to buy one and wait a week.

Looking forward to hearing more about what you come up with.

I was a little luckier. I put a deposit on mine, then when I got home I saw that there was a special deal for members of the BMW MOA, with $1,000 off the purchase price of the C650GT. I immediately called my dealer who hadn't heard anything about it. He checked with BMW NA and confirmed it, so I got $1,000 lopped off the purchase price (along with the reduction in sales tax) once I proved my membership in the MOA.

Guess I should've used the money to buy lottery tickets? Oh well...

Quick update on my situation: Still no paperwork from the dealer; he asked yesterday if it had arrived. I am surprised it hasn't arrived in 4 days. He told me the shipper plans on picking it up as early as Wednesday, Nov. 5th but that may now be delayed since it seems to take at least 4 days for the mail to travel 225 miles. If I get it Monday afternoon, return it Tuesday, that makes a Friday/Saturday back to the dealer. Oh well...

As for pricing; here is what I have found: This past summer, my local BMW dealer wanted to dump their 2013 C600; asked $7999 plus fees and the total cost was just under $10k.
I offered on a 2013 Demo about 3 weeks ago: Dealer was asking $7500, shipped to my door for just over $8500.
Another dealer had a used 2013 with about 2000 miles, would not take $7500.
A third, used 2013 C600, which Skutorr posted from a dealer down in Long Beach dropped down $6900 sold the day before I offered on it.
BMW of San Francisco is offereing their 650GT Demo for just over $9000

So that takes it to the one I'm buying: Posted price on a new 2013 $8990; I paid a little less, + taxes and stuff for a total of under $10k. Now, if only it actually happens...

g-dog out.
