Ok. I'm officially excited. After scouring internet I found a 2015 C650GT from a dealer who will take my used bike trade and fair prices. Uhaul motorcycle trailer rented and hope to be rolling on new scooter by end of weekend. I test drove several and the GT definitely had better windshield with the electric adjustment. I did find 3 leftover C600's 2013 models with zero miles and full 3 year factory warranty. I test rode one and it felt quicker than the GT. The price was on those were $6999. I was very tempted over this great deal but for highway riding it had more buffeting over 50 mph.

Congratulations. I'm with you on the creature comforts, no wind buffeting, etc.

Enjoy... I've had my GT for two and a half years and still enjoy it as much as I did the first day. These are fine machines. I was a bit fearful that I'd miss my Goldwing and K1100LT but as it turns out I sold both of them and find I'm satisfied being a one bike owner with the GT.

For anyone else who see's a good deal on a 600 Sport, you can get a taller windshield for around two hundred bucks and eliminate the buffeting.

Don't blame you for being excited. For touring you made a great choice. Looking forward to some feedback after you get a few hundred miles on your CGT.

I have not taken the keys to GT yet. You're making me have a second guess. Uh oh
Thanks for info though. I'll post what happens over this weekend.

There are advocates for the Sport and GT on this site so you can find some good discussions. My reading of them seem to revolve around two things:

1. Sport is... sportier. Less big plastic.
2. GT has more (and/or easier) storage and plastic to block wind.

Lotsa people get different wind shields as I did. My reason was to create a cone of silence when I wanted one on the freeway. You'll find good discussions about wind shields as well on this site.

Either way - you can't go wrong.

BTW: Will you be riding local - urban? Will you be taking longer trips? That may make some difference on the model features you may find more useful.

I found that on my 600 the wind noise doesn't bother me that much. I usually wear ear plugs anyway and the feeling of the wind on my chest I quite enjoy. To each their own. I also found the GT seat didn't offer me the same amount of room to move my butt whereas my 600, my butt moves freely.

I don't think you can go wrong with either to be honest! Both terrific and ridiculously fun bikes.

TwoPort and Renegader are exactly right, IMO. The same bike with slightly different details. Each to his own, like any PTW. For me, at 6'2", the Gt ergonomically was a perfect fit for me, and the extra storage with touring type fairing/electric windshield fit more into the type of riding I do.

"Either way you can't go wrong." and "I don't think you can go wrong with either to be honest."

Yup and Yup.
