do i really love this scoot

good morning to all. just a few thoughts on my new 650 scoot. i have about 500 miles on her..i sold my swing to my brother..we went out for a ride the other day and switched off scoots. i forgot as to how smooth the swing was compared to my new baby. the bmw fits me way better(as it does my brother) as we are both 6-2 tall. riding alongside my beloved bmw i could hear how loud she is..its also cut out a few times and was hard starting several times too. when she goes in for her first service, hopefully these issues will be addressed. i do like her, but do i love her yet? time will tell..i do like that gilera nexus tho..but where to find one here!

Don't worry, the 650 scoot will continually smooth out and perform better on the way to 6,000 mi or so.

Don't know that the Nexus ever made it to the U.S. And after 10 years since it was introduced, I still think it's the sexiest looking scoot around. Having owned one, I can verify that it's handling is just as fine and frisky as the Beemers and T-Max, just that the 460cc single has it a little down on pep.

In a strange quirk of fate, my ride buddies have suddenly arrived at this point in time with a couple of C650 GT's, a T-Max 530, Burgman 650 and 400 as well as the Nexus. Only missing the Aprilia 850 for the full representative suite of Maxie's (although there was an 850 Mana in the fleet a while back).

Anyways, the story and more pics of the Nexus in the gallery can be read here GILERA Nexus 500ie - Scooter Community, Everything about Scooters, Join the Scooter Community

I'll second Eccles on the GT smoothing out as it breaks in. I have 4600 miles on my GT and can say that it's smoother and quieter than it was when I got it. It isn't as smooth and quiet as my Silverwing(s) were but it has better performance than either my SW or the Burgman 650 I previously owned. Of the three I much prefer my GT, its handling is much more motorcycle like in the twisties and I like the acceleration compared to the SW and B650. That's not counting the amenities the GT has such as the tire pressure monitor, trip computer, mpg readout, etc. Then there's the electrically operated windshield and the heated grips and seat. What's not to like?
