I added the plug in for my Gerbing heated gear to my GT, I took both fairing side covers off and connected the fused wires to the battery on the right. Then took the cover off that surrounds the ignition switch below the handle bars. I used a wire hanger straightened out with a loop on the end as a fishing tool, I put it through the left side over to the right and taped the ASE connector end to the loop.
(Taping over the looped end keeps it from snagging any wires), I pulled it across to the L side, then fished the wire from the larger hole on the right side of the left fairing pocket to the opening on the left. Once again taping the SAE connector to the wire loop, I pulled it through to the before mentioned hole, then I re-installed both side covers, and routed the SAE connector and wire to up to just below the handlebar cover, and re-installed the cover over the ignition switch. When not in use I put the connector in the left fairing pocket.
It works great, just got to remember to not turn on the heatroller or pug it in until the bike is running.
