Front tire lift

So I was getting bored today and I decided to make a lift for the front tire.
This lift was so simple almost anyone can do it with a jig saw a tape measure and a pencil. Earlier this winter I went to lift the front tire to get it off of the concrete floor of the garage but it was so heavy had to use a hammer to jam a piece of wood under the front wheel. Now with this simple lift all I had to do was tap the wood in from the side and the tire is now about 10mm off the concrete. This should also work if I take the tire off for replacement. I made one for each side.

All you need now is a logo on it and it's ready for eBay.

I keep my GT on plywood in the garage.

Definitely the first one...it has this timeless and rustic petina that's very popular right now.

Could you please provide some dimensions? This is an excellent idea! I'm needing a new front tire and was wondering how as was going to lift it. Do you think its tall enough to get the tire out from under the fender?

As a BMW accessory, it think it will retail for $399 each...

As for dimensions from the ground it is 9.5 inches to the bottom of the cut out. What I did was took a piece of paper and cut out the shape of the bottom of the fork and then transferred the shape to the wood then cut it out with a jig saw.

As for the front tire removal, with the fender in place there is not enough room. The front fender removal can be done with a couple of (4) torque screws.

You need a stand on both sides. And I think you can use a piece of wood as small as a 2x6 about a foot long

I have a scissor jack that works well to lift the front wheel off the floor. I use a small piece of plywood to spread the load on the GT's underside. I have a bike jack that I've used on a lot of different motorcycles as well as a couple Of Honda Silverwing 600s I've owned. Before I try that on the GT I need to take a careful look at the underside of the bike to see if the plastic is on the frame tubes or there's space between the tubes and where the jack would lift on the underside of the bike. Might not be able to use the jack but I hope so it's very handy.
