I need a new front tire already

You need to lean more into your turns. :p
Where I live the roads have more curves then straightaways. I think the problem was the pointy tire profile. The tires might have had a race profile, but, they sure
didn't grip like race tires.

Properly inflated and warmed up, I've never had my tires (FeelFrees) give any indication they weren't gripping the road like glue. I've only managed to slide the bike on sand or gravel, and NO tire compound will fix that.

10,300 miles on the original tires! There's still acceptable tread on the front tire but it some leading edges related to the wear pattern have worn down flat at the tip. The rear looks like it will go another 10K. I think it relates to the fact that I've done far too much straight line commuting. But its still good mileage and more than I expected.

We have "chip seal" roads here in S Texas. Basically, jagged gravel glued down with tar. Got 4200 from the front, 4800 from the rear... Currently at 9300 and ready to do it again!

Impressive! The most I've ever gotten from a front tire is 7,230 miles and 9,148 from a rear. Used Metzlers, Michelin PowerPure, and Pirelli Diablo.

I got almost 18k on an IRC front tire on my Silverwing. The rears would go over 10k, but, I never wrote down what it was after the first few years I had it.
The scary tires were Dunlops, I had a rear delaminate at 3k, and a front delaminate at 300 miles. Both were made in a South Eastern Asia Country. The funny thing, both times the delamination formed large bubbles, and when I let the air out of the tires to change them, the bubbles held air! I had to puncture the bubbles to get the tires off the rim.

I'm seriously considering Pirelli MT66 Route 66 replacement tires for my sport. They seem to be very popular with touring bikes with reports of 10,000-13,000miles + being the norm. Front sizes are same as stock, but the rear width is available in 150 or 170. I'm now commuting 140 miles round trip so a narrower tire would be of no bother if I can get more miles out of them.
I had to move to Monterey because the cost of living in silicon valley is now beyond bonkers.

I just looked around, and even went to Pirelli USA. They DON"T make a 15" front tire...Sorry!

What's everyone's recommendation for tires for the super slab? I'm going to be doin 2,000 miles per month these days. What are the troubles with running a different front and rear? Like a route 66 rear and hidenau front, or is it just not recommended.
Thanks fellas

I'm almost at 11K with original tires and most of it super slab. I thought that was decent. The front has the most wear but still has tread enough for "not lots of rain." I believe I'll get 20K out of the rear but plan to change the front at the 12K mi service in the next few weeks. I also tried reading about other tires but nothing definitive seems to emerge. I'm gonna stick with originals this time.

So that's the Metzler Feel free? I did not get that type of mileage out of the Diablos that came on the sport. I'm at 9,500 miles and I should have changed them 2,000 miles ago.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the Power Pure SC unless I hear of a reason not to or a better option comes up.

Edit: upon further reading power pure are getting crap reviews for longevity. Guess it's between the Devil and Free.
