For about a month or so. I never got a policy in the mail so I emailed them as to where it is. This is what I got back after a couple of emails.

<<Hi Mike,

I called in to underwriting to find out what’s going on and why you have only received the privacy policy and I know what happened now. It turns out that I didn’t know a rule about motorcycles with State Farm. State Farm has to auto insurance companies. Our mutual company and our Standard company. Mutual is kind of our premier company for people with no tickets and accidents and that is the company that your autos were eligible for so I quoted your motorcycle there. I did not know that we can’t write a motorcycle in that company if we don’t have your autos as well. We have to have everything together to be eligible. So I made a mistake and that’s why they haven’t sent you the policy…its just waiting to cancel out of mutual and into standard company. I take full responsibility for this mistake and I apologize.

The issue with Standard company is that the rate is almost double what our mutual company is. For your bike it would be $33 a month instead of the $18 you have right now. Unless you want to move your autos over to State Farm then your bike can stay in mutual and your policy would mail out to you. I would be happy to quote you and probably would save you money there too since we have lower rates than 21st century. Once again I am SO sorry for my mistake and I called and left a message to have you call me so I can see how you would like e to proceed.>>

They already quoted me a price on a policy 15 dollars higher then what I am paying now. I guess I can just switch it over. I told them I could if the new quote is as good as the last one.

Oh, is that all? You're lucky. I traded in a 2007 K1200GT on a C650GT. I am almost 60, no violations, no claims. Progressive had me at $535 for the year on the K. On the scooter... wait for it... just under $3,000.00 a year.

Happy ending with the insurance. My truck is now on the same insurance as my bike and my costs for the truck went down from 500 a year to 496.00 a year. That with the bike at 276.00 a year.

Saved over 100 dollars on the truck with a better policy.
