Yep, about 150 YARDS from my Townhouse, selling Ice Cream to the kids getting out of San Elijo Middle School.

Same one that the Long Beach paper had the article about in a previous post of mine. I met the owner Simon, a really nice guy from Bulgaria, who lives just down the street. I bought some yummy Ice Cream and let him know about the Forum (had no idea) and the Timing Chain Recall (BMW NEVER contacted him...)

When your peddling ice cream you're running at fairly low RPMs. He probably didn't notice. Did your ice cream taste better after you told him?

I'd be curious about his economy. When I'm fussing about at slow speeds going and stopping my dash reads less than 10 mpg until I get stabilized at around 20 mph before the gauge reads favorably.

Not much one can do with a vehicle that operates with the slow operating parameters of an ice cream vendors. Just about anything would have pretty poor mileage especially if you need a large enough engine to get to your locations on the freeway. One thing about the BMW is that it's electrical system could easily handle the amplifier usually used to provide the "ice cream man music". Not to mention it can handle the weight of a loaded sidecar cooler.
