Looking at a C600 Sport

So I just turned 8500 miles today have had some time to do some longer distance riding over the last 4 days, on Monday took the bike out and as I was leaving my driveway had a squealing from the drive train not worried about it I know it is the drive belt and it disappears after driving 10 miles or so. well today did a 200 mile ride and really got on the bike on the interstate quick take offs and long high speed riding 85 to 90 mph for about and hour, and the bike had no problems at all and the bike really need this to blow out any cob webs that have been lurking in it, As it has been said use it or loose it, The Germans have made this bike to be used and driven I have not had any problems with this bike at all,I am not looking forward to the 12000 mile service since they really put it to you money wise, As I have said before we are paying for the 36000 mile warranty through each service interval, but that is part of owning a BMW.

I would not worry to much about isolated repair issues. There are brands out there that are popular and have there share of issues. Look at Harley, they are 20 % of the American market and cant pass a repair shop or a sports bar.

Honestly, guys, I love what Harley has done for the motorcycle market over the past 20 years. My Beemer is better than their bike in so many ways...BUT that is my opinion. Fact is, if you buy a Beemer, you expect top of the line (and you pay for it). Other bike folks see that roundel and know you expect quality. But in all honesty, HD has done so much for the motorcycle market in the US I find it very difficult to heep a bunch of criticism on the brand.

It is not Harley. It may be the weekend warriors. Those people frustrate "real" Harley owners, too.

(sorry about sorta hijacking the thread...not my intention)

I can't argue with that Steve. I might not like Harley, or at least how much folks have to pay for them. But it's true that they have done more than their fair share of getting folks out on two wheels and digging the scene. I borrowed my dad's 883 and the build quality was nice, but I shortly discovered it was not the bike for me. I preferred his old CB Honda's, them were just right for my sensibilities.
